no matter the verison i use the game crashes when i try to join and stay in a server

Running Minecraft on a chromebook via Linux is not officialy supported. There is however a chromebook trial edition you can get from the google play store. See https://minecrafthelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12827473532045
