I have a problem with the minecraft launcher.
I had just bought minecraft from minecraft.net, and wanted to start playing it.
I pressed download and followed the instructions, when it got to downloading it kept on saying that i couldn't download the launcher due to "Unable to download the launcher update. Launching previous version...."
I have also tried to download the minecraft legacy launcher and tried to download the launcher from microsoft store but nothing has worked.
I also tried to uninstall the launcher and try everything again, also i have updated all my windows updates.

Hi again, launcher_log indicates that download of https://redstone-launcher.mojang.com/release/v2/objects/5cc0c762f4d271154ec17d8a3cd60f481e215ec5/libcef.dll failed. So some downloads failed, update will not proceed. However, I am also not able to download this file manually. There is an error for me too.
I was the one who instructed OP to make this bug report.
I have attached the launcher log of another user who appears to be affected by the same issue. This user came into the official Minecraft Discord server at approximately the same time as OP. Both logs have two core failure errors, 4 and 7. Both users reside in different countries.
@Turbo I would like to say that I am able to download the file that you just linked to. I am using a mobile data internet connection, from multiple timezones away from where the logs originated.
If you're having an issue updating your launcher at the moment, get a VPN (A free one is Proton, but any VPN should be fine)
If you can, see if your VPN allows you to connect from the United States. (Can be anywhere really, just not a European country).
Then try opening the launcher again.
If it doesn't work, try downloading the legacy launcher. https://launcher.mojang.com/download/MinecraftInstaller.msi and try again after uninstalling the current launcher.
You will likely get additional missing file errors afterwards. Most of them should be addressed in MCL-23025 as a workaround. If it's just an "icon" file missing, it should be the only file missing.
@@unknown Many thanks for the follow-up analysis and workaround. I experience this issue from Germany, so this hits the nail right on the head. I pinned your comment with the workaround.
Is this issue still occurring? I’m not able to reproduce it myself and have not seen any instances of this yesterday or today
I also haven't seen any more incidents of this kind, and I can download the previously mentioned missing file again, which I couldn't do during the time of the issue.
