New option "Skip java runtime version check" not working

I'm trying to run current Java on an old version of minecraft, even with the new option it doesn't seem to work without deleting the "javaCheck" file.
The video below shows in detail the active option and giving the same error.

Affected Java Versions

  1. Java 20.0.2(Minecraft 1.20.2-rc1)

  2. Java 19.0.2(Minecraft 1.20.2-rc1)

  3. Java 18.0.2.1(Minecraft 1.20.2-rc1)

Hi, please try deleting the minecraft folder (copy its contents elsewhere before deleting), uninstalling the launcher, downloading the launcher again from minecraft.net, and then reinstalling it.
Please also attach the full launcher log found in [minecraft/launcher_log.txt|https://minecrafthopper.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder/].

Could you try to reproduce the same behavior with a recent version of Minecraft such as 1.20.1 or 1.20.2-pre2? Are you experiencing the same bug?

Just a reminder, to make your bug report as effective as possible, please try and include the following steps to reproduce the problem:

I added the log.

From what I've seen in other posts, this option is recent and made to ignore the version of java that is running in minecraft java, but it makes no difference when using it.

This error only works in old versions, using very current Java or vice versa

Hi!

Can you please answer these questions?
Does this issue occur only on JDK Java 20?
Does this occur on other versions of Java (other than 1.8.9)?

This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.

In all versions of Java and Minecraft Java the same error will occur

(testing):
1.8.9 - java 17/20
1.10 - java 17/20
1.15.2 - java 17/20

It is for minecraft launcher to ignore version disparity with the option "Skip java runtime version check" active.

Minecraft only runs if the Java version is optimal, even with the option to ignore this check.
