Try to install minecraft launcher through AUR, it will open first time, after that it comes up with Whoops and unexpected issue occured and wont open until you completely uninstall it and delete .minecraft then reinstall

Having the same experience on Ubuntu. No obvious signs of problems in the launcher_log, but there’s a lot of stuff in there. Installing using the .deb from the official Minecraft website. This was working fine until about 3 weeks ago.
I’m seeing a few lines like this at the end of the launcher log for the failing case (anytime after first launch and close):

I’m playing on Fedora 41, and having same problem.
Try deleting the directory “webcache2“ ("$HOME/.minecraft/webcache2") before starting the launcher. In my case, I can start launcher this way.
Same problem in Windows
