Every time the minecraft launcher updates itself, it replaces launcher_profiles.json file with a fresh one resulting in it forgeting all saved profiles

Please attach the full launcher_profiles and launcher_log.txt before and after the update found in minecraft/launcher_log.txt.

Backup your Profiles Regularly
Check the Launcher Version and Update Method
Use (if available) the Cloud sync feature
Look for known issues
