I purchased Minecraft Java Edition officially and can see it on my Mojang/Microsoft account with a valid receipt.
I downloaded and installed the official launcher from the Minecraft website, but it does not give me any version options to play.
Even after reinstalling the launcher, enabling historical versions in settings, and checking all configurations, the issue persists.
I tried using GDLauncher as an alternative. While it installs the game successfully, I cannot join any multiplayer servers due to the error: “Unable to connect to authentication servers.”
My internet connection is normal, my firewall settings allow Minecraft, and nothing is blocking the connection.
The issue began after I accidentally moved some game-related files to the desktop, and then tried to reinstall everything.
Now the launcher either does not work or fails to detect the game versions.
This problem has persisted for several hours and I am unable to play the game at all.

• Device: ASUS Vivobook
• Operating System: Windows 11 Home
• Minecraft Launcher version: Latest (from official website)
• Java version: Bundled (default from launcher)
• Launcher type: Official Minecraft Launcher / GDLauncher (both tested)
• Antivirus/Firewall: Windows Defender (no blocks detected)
• Internet: Stable Wi-Fi connection
• Location: Taiwan
• Mods: None
• Minecraft version attempted: 1.21.5(but no version appeared in launcher)

i think you messed up your minecraft account. try deinstaling the launcher and the .minecraft folder (found in the appdata folder(win+r and then type in %APPDATA%) and reinstalling the launcher again
