When attempting to open the game using the Play button, the Quick Play buttons, the Realms tab, the Installations tab, or when attempting to click on Review the Launcher, the game downloads update files and attempts to launch the game, but nothing happens and the Launcher remains open. Attempting to launch the game again does nothing, and repeatedly clicking “play” makes a generic error message appear. After this happens, closing the Launcher does not remove it from the Task Manager, meaning the launcher cannot be reopened until the task is quit in the Task Manager.

try running as adminnistrator. maybe the launcher doesent have the right to create a new window. maybe there is another app that is preventing it.
I did try that and same issue. It worked once and only once when I disabled all of my computer’s non-Microsoft processes so I think another app is blocking Minecraft somehow. Probably Unity.
