The minecraft launcher doesnt let me play

When ever i want to play minecraft, i chose the version (last time chose the 1.21.4 one) and click play, but it does load a bit and then it rapidly let me see a box with some strange black code saying “unable to decompress file” and some other codes. I didnt try the other versions though. It also did work one time when i just opened the launcher but then i came back to the launcher after 5 seconds and it didnt work anymore. Plsease help me
