My custom game profile for Minecraft in my AMD Radeon Software gets regularly reset; almost every time I launch the game. Minecraft is the only game that this has been happening to for me. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the MS Store version of the MC Launcher and the different paths it uses. When I’m not playing MC the AMD show a path in “C:\Program Files”, as soon as I start the game, it shows a path in my %appdata%. This is really annoying because I have to disable AFMF or otherwise my clouds and some icons are jittering ingame. (That’s an issue for AMD tho I think)
Environment
Minecraft Launcher b.3.17.4-2.2.2
Windows 11 Pro 24H1 26120.4741
Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.198.0
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition Version 25.6.1
AMD RX 7900XTX

Hello and thanks for Reporting to MoJira! For me it sounds like youre using a Custom Profile and we only support the default/Vanilla ones. But im not a Mod yet so i can Help! so here are things to try:
Check for Profile Locking or Saving Issues
Use the Desktop version of the Launcher instead of the MS Store Version
Adjust AMD Radeon and Sofware Settings
Run as Administrator
Use a Minecraft Client like Feather or Badlion
Have fun Fixing -Toucka
What exactly is the Desktop version? I tried uninstalling the MS Store version, downloaded the “MinecraftInstaller.exe” and that would just install the MS Store version again. But you’re right, I was using a profile for fabric. After a couple launches with an official profile (25w31a in my case), the AMD settings haven’t reset again so far.
I can’t easily copy the paths, but here are screenshots from the AMD software:
