When opening the Minecraft Launcher from my desktop, it opens the little update window that it does whenever the launcher needs to update, then an error window pops up saying that it is “unable to update the launcher.”. By pressing the OK button at the bottom, it then opens another error message saying that it is “unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher.” Have seen other talking about the same issue on windows 11 and 10 but no solutions have been made. It has been assumed that the issue is coming from Mojang's side.

Can you please navigate to your .minecreaft folder and delete treatment_tags.json
This is a launcher configuration file and should not impact anything around your games if you only delete that specific file.
Could you also install Windows Legacy from https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download ?
