Launcher can't conncect to the internet despite a valid internet connection to my PC

The minecraft launcher can’t find my internet connection on my PC. It just returns an error. “We were unable to verify what products you own. Please check your internet connection.“ The thing is I am on a stable internet connection and it seems like the launcher is refusing to recognise my connection. I have also tested other applications and they are working just fine so it’s only the minecraft launcher that has this problem
