In macOS 26, the privacy settings for local network has changed, which leads to Minecraft unable to connect to servers on the LAN. Launching the Minecraft launcher from terminal and granting the terminal access to local network is a workaround, but Minecraft should consider requesting this access from the user so that we don’t have to go though terminal to launch the game. It seems like Minecraft would need to request some kind of entitlement in order to show up in the macOS Settings>Privacy&Security>Local Network setting, so that users can grant this access. See also:
