Can't download versions

After installing Minecraft, I opened the launcher and tried to launch the game, but it gave me an error saying "NO_SUCH_VERSION." Furthermore, when I tried to manually install a new version, it wouldn't let me. I've tried everything, but I still haven't been able to fix the problem.
