[MCL-3017] 1.8-pre1 Not Showing Up

Basically when in the launcher when selecting the game version, 1.8-pre3 shows up, but not 1.9pre1. I assume this is a bug? What do we do if we are playing on a server that's running pre-release 1?

Not a bug.
Only the last snapshot of a series remains available.

What should we do if a server we play on is pre-release 1 and now we can't download it?

Upgrade the server to 1.8, 1.8-pre1 is outdated.
