[MCL-3214] Cannot open minecraft, getting stuck on launcher

Whenever I click the play button on the launcher it starts running, but it takes me to the game output page.

I thought the game would start as normal

The game took me to the output page and when I clicked on the launcher log it said cannot launch game (screen shoot and word document below)

Please help me! I cannot even play single player!

My best guess: Either Java isn't installed or Minecraft is having trouble finding Java. 🙂

Essentially duplicate of MCL-1049. Broken Apple java. Since the launcher does open, you can change the default java version used, assuming you have Oracle java 7 or 8 installed, by changing the Executable in the 'Edit Profile' menu, to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java
