I went to play on a server with a friend to record on version 1.5.2
It said the launcher I currently had was out of date and to reinstall so I did and then it would only show the latest snapshot (13w24a)
So I reinstalled it and then it wouldn't show any of the versions at all.
1. Install latest launcher
