I tried to make a profile for old versions alpha beta and release 1.0 to 1.6 and I make a separate installation of them with separate game files. I put them to a game directory at: appdata/roaming/.minecraft/OldVersions/b1.8.1(for example) they all have their own saves file, BUT THEY ARE NOT USING THEIR OWN SAVES FILE THROUGH THEIR GAME DIRECTORY, BUT INSTEAD THEY USE THE ORIGINAL SAVES FILE WHICH HAS ALL MY MAPS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LOADED AT THE LATEST VERSION OF MINECRAFT, WHICH IS AT: appdata/roaming/.minecraft/saves. IT DOES NOT USE IT'S OWN SAVES FILE THAT I PROVIDED FOR EACH PROFILE WITH SEPARATE DIRECTORY FILES IN DIFFERENT VERSIONS! IT'S SO ANNOYING!!!

Beta versions are very old, you have to expect them behaving oddly. Apart from that, the upcoming launcher version apparently won't have this problem anymore.
