When ever i launch minecraft and press play it goes to the MOJANG screen and it just freezes and i have to quit i have deleted it and re downloaded it but it still doesn't work there should be an option to go back to the previous launcher...

There's two known crash issues right now, and I reckon it's one or both of them:

Curse launcher doesn't support the new launcher. There's a fix released in their alpha builds: https://support.curse.com/hc/en-us/articles/215112106-Switch-Between-Live-and-Alpha
