No sound files for anything before 1.7

On the newest launcher, it seems like when you download any update before 1.7 (1.6.4 in my case), it doesn't download the old sound directory, and I'm assuming that 1.6.4 can't find/read the sounds in the new directory. (yes I've tried F3+T) I put a screenshot of my folder and as you might be able to tell by the dates, I wiped everything out and tried re-downloading, no dice, virtual folder still not there.
