Minecraft Launcher is starting off screen

Minecraft launcher is off screen in single screen mode. This happens after more than one screens have been connected to the computer and disconnected. Now launcher is permanently off the screen. Nothing to get it back, tried reinstalling to no avail.

I have this issue in windows 7 as well.

It happens for me when I use a second monitor with my laptop and drag it over to the extended screen. Then when I launch later without monitor it opens in same place.

If you are on modern version of windows you can move the window with the keyboard by pressing the windows key and left or right so that it snaps to the sides of the screen.

I'm glad someone else gets this, I had to make a new user account on my windows OS just to get the launcher, also trying to push the launcher to a different virtual desktop doesn't work either. So plugging in a screen again and moving the launcher back to the correct desktop solved this. Incidentally this is not an issue on MacOS, the new launcher correctly re-initialises on the primary screen if screens are disconnected.

As a temporary workaround I was able to right click the task bar and select show open windows, and then selecting it showed it on the screen properly. This is on windows 10 btw. Hope that helps!

Same here. When I used to use Duet Display, I tried to play MC on my iPad. Now the app doesn't work and i lost my minegrafy 😞

I have this happen with Windows every now and then.

Select the running (offscreen) launcher and using only the keyboard do the following:

  • Alt+space

  • Arrow down to "move" and press enter.

  • Touch the left arrow once.

At this point, you should be able to move your mouse and your application will come with it (until you click).
