It'll let me get to the world menu but when I click on a world and let it load, it always crashes and says either "an unexpected issue has occurred" or something about java binary has crashed? I have windows 8.

I'm experiencing the same issue as Rachel Rimmasch. I've tried to go onto a public and private server multiple times and each time I try I get a game crash report. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the game to try updating the game and it is still continuing to crash. My game only crashes when I try to get on a world or server and I can sit on the menu screen no problem for a prolonged period of time. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing is working, please fix this because I really enjoy playing Minecraft but I don't have the opportunity to do so anymore because of this issue
.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my game crashing

Hey so I figured out how to make my game run! If you're having problems with the Java crash, all you have to do is go to options, go to video settings, turn OFF the VSync and VBO controls. Your Java crashes because it has too many frames/sec and if you turn off the VSync then it'll limit those frames. I haven't figured out why VBO has anything to do with it, but it worked for me so I'd turn it off, haha. If you do these things the game should work, but it might glitch a little such as flash white, red, and green (not at the same time) but it's a quick flash and it wont affect your game.

I am not able to get into my game at all how do I get to the opition button. I am so lost.

Windows 10, nothing is fixing this bug. Click "Play Game" and it crashes. I would love to find a fix for this, but I tried updating drivers, reinstalling java, all the suggested fixes about which launcher to try... EVERYTHING. A little miffed that this particular open issue has popped up several times in the past ten days under several titles and keeps getting deleted... Come on Mojang. You can do this. I believe in you. Fix please.

I've had the same issue as Charlie Metheany and I really hope that mojang fixes this A.S.A.P! (Minecraft is my LIFE, I am a gamer that cannot live without it! π) The only minecraft I now can play is modded. :,(

The issue β trever321!
Because of a bug in Java, special characters are not permitted to be in folder names. This causes issues with Minecraft that prevent it from loading correctly, and thus resulting in a crash.
Please follow this guide on how to fix the issue.
Everyone else in this ticket: If this isn't your issue, please create a separate ticket.

Thanks for this, the fix works.
