Hi,

perhaps I was not clear enough about this bug. After the printout the minecraft launcher program crashes and the game cannot be played. I think you should raise the severity of this bug and recommend a working solution. So far I have not seen any work-around. In 1.5 version I could re-install lwjgl and it worked again but now it just crashes. Please solve asap.

Hi,

OK so a crash is not a bug?? I will try using the forum you pointed out, thanks.

Force update Minecraft and try running the launcher by double-clicking on it. See if the crash persists.

Hi FireHunterX,

I have done the Forced update so many times now and it does not work (since 1.5.1 was released). Since I run Minecraft in Linux (Kubuntu 10.04 LTS) I launch the linux version of minecraft.jar (I download this separately, 80kB large file) from a konsole terminal window. So there is no double-clicking involved here. The minecraft.jar (5 Mbyte large file) that is downloaded with Forced update have never worked to launch minecraft.

This crash is persistent.

BR Fredrik

Did you try double-clicking the jar? (Make sure you open it in your Kubuntu java thing, probably OpenJDK, not your KDE archive manager thing)

Tails, this isn't a duplicate of the other issue. What is happening is that you are stuck without a minecraft, maybe try changing the appdata directory so that it completely downloads.
On windows, you can do this with

set appdata=%appdata%\nowhereinparticular

Although you can chose whatever directory.

Also, when you launch, does it say done loading with a incomplete progress bar?

Ooh, this is the game being broken with 1.6.
Update your graphics card drivers.
Worst case, stick with 1.5.
