In February I launched Minecraft, and the program downloaded the new launcher. I then experienced an issue, which I reported: MCL-5557.
I am still having this issue.
On August 14, I launched Minecraft again. It downloaded a new version of the launcher. I am still experiencing the same issue, to wit: The Launcher window only says "Loading" and goes no further. I am not getting a crash or a bug report. The application does NOT hang.
To reproduce: Open the new launcher in OSX 10.10.5. I don't know what else to do to get it to reproduce.
NOTE: My prior report was tagged and closed as a duplicate of MCL-5523. But MCL-5523 appears to be an issue with 10.8.5. I repeat, I am running OSX 10.10.5.

Thank you, but I cannot provide a launcher log using the guidance provided in the link.
To repeat what I reported above: The launcher never finishes loading.
When I launch the game it opens a "Minecraft Launcher" window that says "Loading," and it goes no further. At the moment I am writing this, the launcher has been "Loading" for twelve hours.
If the launcher does not load, I cannot get to the menu, which means I cannot get to the Settings, which means I cannot get a log.
If at all possible, can you give me an alternate way of getting you a log, or some other information that will let you identify the issue?
Does .minecraft/launcher_log.txt exist? If so, please attach it here.

I removed launcher_profiles and its backup from the /minecraft folder. Now it launches correctly.
I added this as a possible solution to MCL-5293. Thank you! 😃
