Launcher crashing and unable to load game

I purchased and initially downloaded minecraft several years ago which my children have been playing on a laptop with no problems. The laptop is no longer in use and so I have now tried to download the game onto a new PC. Since doing this, with the new launcher, it is continuously crashing and unable to load the game. I have seen on many forums that this appears to be a well known issue that lots of people are facing and seems that nothing is being done about it.
Mojang, can you please provide me with a viable fix to resolve this issue, if this cannot be done satisfactorily then I will need to request a refund of the amount I initially paid for the game as it is no longer fit for purpose.

How much information do you want, its all over the internet that everyone is having this problem and youre doing nothing to fix it. Perhaps if you could just attempt to be a little more helpful and advise me what more information I could possibly give you then you might actually be able to do something about it?? I am not an IT or gaming expert, all I can tell you is that it is crashing, a picture attached to the report showing the message it says?? What more do you expect me to be able to provide????

Please provide us the output log by following these instructions.

Please attach the launcher log (.minecraft/launcher_log.txt) here.

If one exists, be sure to attach the crashlog from [minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/guides/finding-minecraft-data-folder].

This is known to be a problem with your computer.

  • Update your graphics card drivers (Do not rely on automatic updates).

  • If you are using Java arguments to increase the amount of memory, please reduce it to the default 512MB.

  • If that did not help, please use the community support link below.

Graphics card drivers are already fully up to date.

As I said I am not an IT technician, java arguments means nothing to me?!! I wouldnt even know how to argue with it let alone increase or decrease memory.
I think you need to learn to be a little more user friendly, we're not all career gamers. Im just a parent trying to help my child play his game.

By the way, Mojang can't do anything about this issue. It's your computer hardware that's causing it.

  • Either you don't have a graphics card (then you can't play Minecraft),

  • or you have a graphics card which does not meet the requirements for Minecraft to run (then you can't play Minecraft),

  • or (and that's the most likely case) you have a graphics card, but Minecraft tries to run on the weaker graphics card integrated into your computer's processor. In that case you have to make sure Minecraft uses the proper graphics card. Again, to do that, contact the community support as I said above.
