I open up the Minecraft launcher, start game, and it crashes, saying "An unexpected issue has occurred and the game has crashed." I try getting the crash report, but it's stuck on "Waiting for log output".

I think that's an issue a lot of people are getting right now. I'm getting that too and so are several other people that I've spoken to - I think it's just a case of waiting for it to be fixed.

I got the same problem. It started after launcher update 30 min ago. I was playing 2 hours ago and it was all fine.

I am running Optifine the HD U C6 and it crashes leading me into this, I upgraded to the Preview version of Optifine HD U C7 Pre and I get EXACTLY the same result it didnt do this to me on the laucher that I had prior to this one it all started with 2.0.995, it worked fine on 2.0.737 (I am not sure since I never noticed the version number but I know it was in the 700 range) something is weird going on here with this I hope its fixable

It is now working. Launch it and it will update to fix

looks like they have fixed it by giving out another update just click the icon and it will update again and it will let you use optifine
