Closing Minecraft causes Minecraft Launcher to close, ignoring the keep open setting in the launcher

When I close Minecraft ("Java (TM) Platform SE Binary") it causes the Minecraft Launcher ("Minecraft launcher (32bit)") to close a few seconds after, even though the "Keep the launcher open while the game is running" is enabled.
