Can't Log In "Could Not Connect To Server"

I cannot log into my minecraft account. I have been taken to launcher and I am asked to enter my loin details. When I put my login details in, it comes up with the message "could not connect to server". I thought it might have been the internet, but it was fine. Then I tried resetting the password and it showed the same messagge
