Minecraft cannot ping/connect to servers when Minecraft is idle in the memory for a while

When Minecraft is runnng in background for a while, Pinging/Connecting to servers will fail or servers will be stuck at locating server state on the servers screen.

 

 

HOW TO REPRODUCE:

1. Open Minecraft and see the servers tab. (You should see the MOTD show up correctly)

2. Close Minecraft and let Minecraft run in the background for a while

 

EXPECTED RESULTS:

When you open Minecraft. The servers will still ping/connect successfully. (Close the main window and press Play to refresh the ping)

ACTUAL RESULTS:

The servers will fail to ping/connect. Attempting to connect will result in Unable to Connect to World

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If so, can you add it to the affected versions?
