Illumination glitch when breaking/placing blocks

When placing or breaking blocks, sometimes a darkness flash will appear around the area near the block. It only takes about less than half a second to the now-darkish area to dissapear after the moment it appears, but it's very irritating (which I think it might only happen(im not sure) if the blocks are previously exposed to sunlight, or maybe it will likely happen less frequently if the blocks are exposed to artificial light like torches or that kind, if that makes any sense)
