my villagers keep on disapearing when i go to sleep or i leave them for 1 night.

my villagers keep on disappearing randomly after i go to sleep. the only ways i can see them again is to leave the game and re-connect. My biggest worry is that one of my villagers will become invisible and when i open my iron door they will run out and i won't notice
