When playing in survival i have noticed that if i sprint up about 40 stairs my hunger drops from full (20) down to 6 incredibly quickly.
I assume it has something to do with moving upwards that perhaps is making the hunger drop so quickly. I would expect it to drop at a similar pace to sprinting across flat ground or sprinting up stairs, but instead it drops from full down until i can no longer sprint sometimes before i can reach the top of the staircase.
If you're looking to replicate; create a staircase that goes up 40 blocks (no landings/breaks, just straight up the entire distance) and sprint up them auto jump must be enabled!
Have also noticed there seems to be a timing effect to it? As if only during certain time frames the hunger will drop quickly. sometimes hunger won't drop at all, sometimes it won't drop until partiality up the stairs and then sometimes it drops as soon as i start sprinting.
Hope this makes sense and is easy to follow, if this has been fixed in a recent update or if anyone has any extra information on this please let me know!

Yes auto jump was on, I checked with auto jump disabled and the hunger didn’t drop. Still a problem for people who do use auto jump.

yeah thats all good, i didn’t realise it had already been reported as i thought that one was similar but not the same bug. Thanks for your help with this one!
