when placing glowstone or touches, there is lag(i believe this is because the app is not optimized for ios6 though) and it must be because the items are changing the lighting. try making the lighting change at a slower rate(half a second rather than instant). this is most noticeable when running and placing at the me it as it gudders.

This is a REALLY big issue, especially when I am trying to light up my city as much as possible, so I always make sure there is glowstone wherever light can travel through. But for some reason it always lags the game. It lags when I am placing glowstone in normal weather and when it is raining. I was playing on creative mode.
