Whenever I click on Sign Into Microsoft Account it says it is connecting, but does not bring up the box with the link and code to enter on a computer. This is happening on my Switch and my son's Switch as well.

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If so, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter).

I've been having a similar problem for about a month. I saw somewhere that I had to delete my save data in order to get the account back, and it's worked some, but now even that won't work.
