Ender shulker glitch

My summary is in short that... When I was in the end city I found elytra and I went to explore the last section of the city. When I went into the tower I was greeted by 5 shulker but I payed no heed to them. I let them hit me and floated to the next floor I waited for the effect to ware of but then I glitched inside the blocks I wasn't taking any damage but when the levatation effect wore out I fell 2 blocks low and died at full hearts.

What I expected to happen was...:*

I was hit by a shulker in a end city. I floated up to the next floor and went into a corner and waited for the levitation to ware off. I thought I would land safely and take no damage but that is not what happened

What actually happened was...:

When I got hit by the shulker I floated to the next floor and waited in the corner for the levatation effect to ware off. But when it did, I fell 2 blocks and died suddenly at full hearts. I was wearing elytra but I wasn't flying I think this is what caused it? Because it happened a second time. But when I didn't wear elytra it didn't happen. I would appreciate if you fix this soon so it doesn't happen to anyone else

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get hit by shulker and float up to a floor and stay under a block. Wear elytra
2. Wait for the levatation potion to wear off. Don't mine while waiting
3. When it wares of you should hit the ground and die suddenly
