When creating a double piston, the top piston does not stick to the sticky bottom piston. Furthermore, it is impossible to actuate both pistons at the same time, one or the other is always actuated and when the bottom one is actuated leaves the second piston floating in the air.

If you are building a double piston extender, you cannot activate both pistons at the same time, because a piston won't push (or pull) an extended piston. If you are unsure how to build this, you might want to visit one of the technical bedrock communities on discord or reddit.
