I paused the game by minimizing the Minecraft window (or pressing the button that it the horizontal line) and when I got back onto the window, the bed was invisible and its hitbox was only one block by one block. The height was not a full block. I broke the invisiblock and it gave a bed, which I could place down and use afterwards.
