I was doing alot of mining, so my inventory was probably full. I found 8 diamonds and an emerald I'd saved for last. I didn't think about clearing room for them, just mined them up (since usually you can't pick up anything when inventory is full). It looked like I had picked them up (I walked around and collected them all), so I took them back to my chest. 1 min later, at the chest, I realized they weren't there. So I went back to make sure I'd picked them up (another minute)... nothing... :'(

Yes, I did search for this issue before submitting and it is not a duplicate. I am not having the same problem as MCPE9960. I did as 9960 did, and placed a full stack of wooden planks in a chest and 24 in my inventory and my inventory was full (screenshot #6). Then I shift-clicked the full stack (instead of long-click, since a recent update uses shift-click now). What I wound up with is 64 in my inventory, and 24 in my chest (screenshot #7). 9960 had nothing in the chest. So I am not having this problem.
I am trying to pick up newly mined items. I begin with a full inventory and a new pickaxe (screenshot #1) (I am using the pickaxe to the left in my hotbar). I mine all I can reach without moving; pickaxe is still fine (screenshot #2). Inventory is still like it was (screenshot #3). I walk over the blocks to "pick them up" (screenshot #4). And this is what my inventory looks like (screenshot #5).. still the same.
