I had the elytra on, and i was flying around in the nether and i noticed the bubbles for the players air meter show up for a split second when i hit a block that was above me. Then while mining, i ran into a floating block (head height to the player) and i walked into it, nothing happens at first then the air bubbles come up again and i start taking damage. This happened with every block, not just Magma.
