On my realm either on switch/Xbox any block that is at head hight with an empty space underneath I can walk through it. The head hight block is not solid, I do take suffocation damage, happens with or without elytra on

I saw their bug but mines not from flying, I only included mention of the elytra after seeing they have the issue similar but when flying, I tried it myself just walking into a block at head height with and without the elytra equipped, still can walk into it and suffocate
