The screen doesn't "pull back"/enlarge the FOV when sprinting. This may affect 0.12.0/0.12.1 too.

The "screen pull back" you are referring to is a brief change in the FOV (field of view) when the player starts sprinting. I just checked on my Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8), Android 5.1.1, MCPE 0.13.0 and I do get the FOV change when I sprint, unless I set the FOV slider all the way to the right, then the FOV doesn't change when sprinting and I don't see the screen pull back. I believe that exception works as intended.
I'll try to check on my iPad3 (MC705C/A) iOS 8.4.1 (12H321), MCPE 0.13.0 later, but I'm away from that device.
In the mean time, please check your FOV (field of view setting) in options and see if it is set all the way to the right.
Yeah, it's set all the way to the right. I like playing on Quake Pro (Highest FOV). The reason why my screen doesn't pull back is because they probably haven't coded the "pull back" since it's the highest FOV (When sprinting, the screen will change to a higher FOV if on a lower FOV)

This works as intended. There's a limit on the FOV to prevent it from going too high and causing graphical glitches. The FOV is capped at 110, and the highest you can set the FOV in the settings is 110.
