When I create a nether portal and go to nether, then upon my return to overworld, another nether portal was created (as if the one made by me was not there or turned off).
To reproduce:
Create new world in superflat. Use obsidian to make nether portal, light and enter portal. Return through same portal.
Expected: Player appears in overworld at the same portal originally created by player.
Observed: Player appears in overworld at another place, at a newly created (by the game) portal.

This issue is not similar to MCPE-39609 and should be re-opened. The other issue works as intended because nether portals close to each other are supposed to link up.
Now THIS issue is that when entering the nether and going straight back out through the same portal, the game creates a new portal in overworld instead of using the existing one. I believe this is not intentional.
We would need the exact coordinates of all of the portals to determine if it is a different issue or not.
Seed 2122779052, superflat world.
Portal made by player with 4x5 blocks of obsidian, one (obsidian) corner at 10, 4, [-13], other corner at 10, 4, [-16].
When going through from overworld to nether, player appears at portal in nether with one corner at 4, 39, 13, other corner at 4, 39, 16.
When going back through this portal from nether to overworld, player reappers in overworld at a new portal (not made by player) with corner at 31, 4, 120, other corner at 34, 4, 120.
When you return to the overworld from your portal in the nether, the calculated coordinates are 32, 39, 112. This is more than 128 blocks away from your original portal in the overworld (10, 4, -14), so the game creates a new portal. This calculation is described in more detail in MCPE-39609.
Please see the linked ticket for a brief explanation of portal linking.
