Falling sand/gravel will disappears and floats above snow

Sometimes when you try to place sand/gravel in place that will cause it to fall with the new gravity mechanics it will disappear and not be placed or fall. The sand/gravel will also be used out of your inventory.

Also if you remove a block of sand/gravel at the bottom of a column of sand/gravel the whole column of sand/gravel above it disappears as well.

Update:

If sand/gravel falls on sand/gravel it will disappear, if it falls on other blocks like dirt it won't disappear.

Also if it falls on snow it will float there. Attached picture of this.

Update 2:

Ignore comments about only disappear on sand/gravel tried this again and its disappearing on most blocks now.

Correcto! I lost a whole stack of my sand 😞

I have had the same problem with disappearing sand and gravel. I have been able to reproduce it reliably, although I have not seen any pattern in when it occurs. Sometimes, things fall, other times they don't. The snow bug always occurs, though.

You are right I've tried it again and it does seem a bit random when it decides with destroy the block. When I updated my report it was reliably only destroying blocks on sand/gravel but now its not.. hmm 😞

This should be split into two bugs. The first one (sand/gravel disappears) was something that was noticed before the relase, but unfortunately not in time so it was only fixed for the different Android versions.

You won't find a pattern, because it was actually pseudo-random. 🙂. It never showed up during development though, only in the release 😞.

The floats-above-snow part is the same behaviour as in PC Minecraft, so I will mark this as resolved.

One thing I noticed about the falling snow is that it would replace the snow block if it fell more than 2 blocks

I noticed that too. It only floats if you place it directly above the snow block.
