i accidentally close the app, and im getting tired explaining this again over and over again so i will jump to the point, play on survival hard, made a copy for having fun in creative, was spawning 64 phantoms in downstairs, kill them all, heard lightning strike on roof, lightning destroyed 2 blocks, one cat and one armor stand, burns inside the tree house, managed to put down the fire.

Seems to work correctly. Lightning can harm entities like cats and set blocks like wood, leaves, wool, etc. - ones that can burn - on fire. This is one of the reasons why lightning rod will be added in 1.17 update.
