Visitor drops items on death

Visitors are supposed to be unable to drop items. They didn't drop them on death. For some reason they do now. I was playing with my friend. He was near pressure plates. Luckily he was visitor and could not active them. Then he died and he dropped all of his items and the items activated pressure plates which activated tnt and blew up my entire house. He isn't supposed to be able to blow up my house when he is a visitor. Visitors aren't supposed to drop items on death!
