Steps to reproduce:
Use item on a blank map or locator map (map level 0/4)
upgrade map with cartography table to map level 4/4
Use upgraded map to begin mapping. Mapping will be centered in the map frame, not aligned with previous expanded maps.
Observed result:
A map which begins mapping based on your location, not where the map was first used.
Expected result:
A map which is bound by the alignment system for maps from previous versions.

I am really surprised there has been no action on this. I'm happy to help with beta testing, but like to play, as well. Just would like to know the report has been received and folks are aware of it
