I was happily using Minecraft on my i3/8GB/128GB touchscreen convertible Chromebook using the Amazon App Store until now I see this posted:
https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4415922646541-Minecraft-no-longer-available-for-non-Amazon-devices-in-the-Amazon-store
And now I can no longer get updates. The newest version of Minecraft that will install is the 1.17 version but now I can't play with any of my children and must go back to my smaller 8" Kindle to play. I don't understand why Mojang/Microsoft refuses to allow Minecraft, other than the Education Edition, to run on Chromebooks when they are perfectly capable of doing so. This very much appears like a political decision because the Amazon App Store was the loop-hole to getting it on Chromebooks after it blocked on the Goolge Play Store.
I guess Mojang/Microsoft is just OK with letting market share go to other platforms like Roblox which has no problem installing on Chromebooks.
