Greetings,
My use case, I've retired some old laptops running Java Minecraft and would like to transition to Minecraft Bedrock on Switch. We have 4 switches in the household. I'd like to run a private server (this is entirely possible on other platforms from what I can tell, and is very common for Java version).
Nintendo Switch doesn't allow this functionality, but I see no legitimate reasoning for this. Indeed, you can update DNS to point at a Bedrock server with some shenanigans on the device and it will work just fine.
Self-hosted servers should be first-class citizens for Minecraft on Switch, just like on other platforms. Minecraft is one of the best multiplayer/multiplatforms available for kids these days, arbitrary limitations due to "platform" is really disappointing.
Thanks!
