New elements such as copper ores, amethyst geodes cannot be found in the explored area. Only if I travel to a far, unexplored region then I can find them. By the way, living things such as axolotls or glow squids do not have such problem.

Once the chunks are generated, they won't be regenerated in a new version. This allows anything that has been built by the player to be retained across versions.
