so I am on a realm my friend made and this happens, I walking through an snowy plains and spot a random nether portal. I think to my self "where does that lead" so I go through it. ones I go in what I hear is a creeper exsploding on my and I think a zombe, all 3 things died (me, the creeper, and the zombe). because a village was near by it and I slept there before I when in I respawned at the village. I ran back to the portal and went back in. I went to a nether portal about serval hundred blocks away. the first portal was near by the second one. first portal was a portal also hundreds of away from where I entered. When I came through the second one I ended up at my first house. so some how I got teleported several hundred blocks away. what I think happened was the nether portal in the snowy plains try to connect with the nearest portal in the nether, succeeded but didn't realise the nearest one was hundreds of blocks away
