Glow squids will spawn in weird spots, like ponds, possibly water flows, and rivers. Here's a screenshot:

"In Bedrock Edition, glow squid have a herd size of 2–4 and spawn anywhere in water underground (below a solid roof categorized as cave spawn, while squids are surface spawns) anywhere from y = 0 to y =63. "
So it's not a bug the spawn of these glow squid is normal
Yeah, this happened to me this morning when I created a new survival world. I guess they no choice but to be my pets now... evil laughing

They will spawn if there is water and if it is dark. Those are their ONLY spawn requirements, so they can spawn in those places.
